3. Q. What is a Position Number? How do I get one?

A. The job or vacancy Position Number is an internal reference number for the public sector organisation advertising the vacancy. Each position generally has its own unique reference number. The reference number is shown in the position details. On the front page of the Job Search enter the keyword/s of the job title this will provide all jobs with those keywords and the position number.

A. If you require further information regarding any position listed on the job board, you need to contact the person advertising the vacancy in accordance with the instructions in the advertisement (under For Further Job Related Information). Instructions for applications or contact details for enquiries are listed in each advertisement.

The "Helpdesk" does not have information regarding advertised positions.

5. Q. How can I view only those jobs that have been posted since last I checked the listings?

A. This site is a live real time site. Jobs are loaded daily and removed according to the closing date of vacancies.

The job search function allows you to select vacancies based on last day, last 2 days, last week, last 2 weeks and last month. Also, if you are using one of the most up to date browsers, your browser highlights vacancies that you have previously viewed. Any vacancy not highlighted has not been viewed and is likely to have been loaded since your last visit.

9. Q. Whenever I do a search or attempt to register I get a 'Page Not Found' error.

A. This is an unusual problem and should not happen regularly. It could be that you are using a non-compatible browser. The minimum requirements are Microsoft Internet Explorer IE4+ browsers or Netscape 4.08+ browsers. If your browser does not meet the minimum requirements please update.

An alternative is that the time lag from your request to response from the database 'times out' on your browser. Try logging on with a faster Internet connection, or accessing the site in non-peak Internet times.

Let us know if the problem continues and we will investigate in greater depth.

10. Q. After I go into a job to see the duties and key selection criteria, I press 'Back' to continue the search. I then get a message saying 'Warning Page has Expired'. I then have to begin the search again from jobs 1 - 10. At this stage I may be at jobs 51 - 60 so I have the inconvenience of having to start again from the beginning.

A. All searches are conducted through a database. The 'Warning - Page has Expired' message appears because you have used the 'Back' button on your web browser. Do not use this button to return to the list. You will find that the job advertisement has a back button at the top and bottom of the page. Use one of these buttons to return to your list.
